Rubber powder and granulates mixed with a binding or vulcanisation material are very well suited for the production of solid rubber products. The quality is comparable with similar products made from virgin rubber and the economical as well as environmental costs are much less.
Practical examples from the rubber industry are rubber mats of any kind, traffic cones, solid wheels on waste containers and shopping trolleys.
Most of these products can be made from 100% recycled rubber powder with binding material added.
A few applications require a small amount of virgin rubber in the mix. Every single percentage of virgin rubber, which can be replaced with recycled rubber, means major savings in the costs and reduced environmental impacts like e.g. emission of greenhouse gasses.
