Home Turnkey Project procedure
Step 1: Inquiry form with basic information
If a potential partner is interested in cooperating with Genan about a turnkey project, the first step is to fill in the inquiry form. It is the clear policy of Genan not to be involved in discussions with consultants or project companies without knowing the full identity of the potential final investor.
It is also critical that a potential investor has a clear idea about the tyre input volume that can be secured. A Genan plant is quite large as the smallest configuration available has a yearly capacity of 35,000 tonnes of scrap tyres. The Genan technology is based on large scale operation, and we never involve ourselves in plants below that capacity. We simply do not believe that it is possible to produce output with the optimal uniformity and cleanliness below that size.
Step 2: Evaluation of inquiry data
After Genan and the potential partner have been having the first dialogue on basis of the information from the inquiry, both parties consider whether it is viable to continue the dialogue by having a meeting and exchanging further details in order to develop a project.
Step 3: Meetings and exchange of information for the development of a business plan
On basis of local conditions, e.g. costs of electricity and manpower, gate-fees for the acceptance of the tyres and mapping of the local markets for the output, business plans can be simulated by using Genan’s economic models. It can now be judged in broad terms whether a plant will turn out to be profitable on basis of the assumptions done. If yes, the process can now continue on the more detailed level.
Step 4: Visit to a plant in operation
The potential turnkey partner can now have the opportunity to visit one of Genan’s operative plants. We have strong precautions for visits to our plants and it can only be done by accepting a secrecy declaration.
Step 5: Detailed contract negotiations and financial clearance
Detailed negotiations can now take place, which also will involve the financial basis of the potential partner.
