SBR rubber – the best choice for your infill

Rubber originating from tyres is called SBR rubber. Only the very best materials are used in the production of tyres and the rubber gets a second life after high-quality recycling as infill in artificial turf pitches.

In this way the superior characteristics such as elasticity, weather resistance and extremely good aging properties are maintained. Beware that only recycled rubber from tyres, not industrial rubber from other sources (e.g. conveyor belts, windshield wipers, rubber hoses), has these superior features.

In order to obtain the best ball behavior, the size of the rubber granulate infill must not be too fine or too rough. If the infill is too fine, it will compact and the artificial turf will not be elastic enough. If the infill is too rough, it will absorb too much energy from the ball, resulting in a poor rebound performance. In order to meet all special requirements, Genan therefore offers 3 different sizes of infill, Fine, Fine-mix and Medium.
