A recently published article in ”European Journal of Business and Management” advocates the use of LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) work in circular economy models (CEMs), e.g. carbon markets. CEMs are economical systems designed to minimize the industry’s impact on the biosphere as well as to ensure the optimal resource efficiency.
Practical examples from tyre recycling (Genan) and domestic appliances (Siemens) are used to show that any new carbon market mechanisms should be designed from the very beginning to reward the most productive use of resources.
Genan has over the last 5 years made several comprehensive LCA-studies in order to give scientific support to political decision makers.
